It it's supposed to happen, it will
Dear Editor:
In regards to a suicide by a police officer or firefighter or any other suicide even by someone else, usually there are signs by the victim as to not sleeping at night, butterflies in their stomach, loss of appetite, or being very nervous.
Having their favorite food on the day it is supposed to happen.
This is all planned out by the victim well in advance. Once this is started, it is going to happen. There is no stopping this.
If it is stopped by someone, you are only buying the victim more time because it is going to happen. If not now, later. Because that is the way it is.
Even a family member or friends cannot stop this.
But there is help for the victim at Blue Mountain Health System in Lehighton. You have to ask for help because it is not going to come to you.
The victim has to talk to a psychiatrist. he or she is the only person that is going to help them. With their help with therapy and medication, they will be on to a better life.
For family members and friends, there is no closure. It stays with you the rest of your life.
Thank you,
Robert Benek
