Drug take back
The Tamaqua Police Department will be participating in National Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Oct. 26. Anyone with outdated or unused medication may take those drugs to the police station, located at the rear of 320 E. Broad St.
St. Peter's Union
The Rev. Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday in St. Peter's Union Church, Mantzville. Sunday School classes will meet at 9:15 a.m.
Upcoming activities include: Monday, the Guild will meet at 7 p.m., in the social hall; Tuesday, fundraiser committee meeting at 6:30 p.m., preschool meeting at 7:30 p.m.
First United Methodist
Due to Sunday's Oktoberfest celebration in Tamaqua, the weekly worship service for First United Methodist Church will be held on Saturday. The Rev. Susan Daniels will officiate at the 6:30 p.m. service.
Activities for next week will include two Bible study sessions: Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Wednesday at 10 a.m.
National Night Out
Tamaqua's National Night Out Committee will be meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center on Pine Street. The committee will begin planning for the 2014 event.
The public is welcome to attend.
