Safe Haven
Safe Haven Pet Rescue will have a volunteer meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Cherry's Family Restaurant, Route 209 near Route 534, Kresgeville. Volunteers are needed for adoption days, dog transport to veterinary and grooming appointments, fundraising, clerical help, home visits and more. Foster homes are needed in order to save more dogs. If you are interested in volunteering or fostering, come to the meeting or visit the website.

Blood drive
The Red Cross will be holding a blood drive from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec 5 at the Pleasant Valley Intermediate School, Polk Township Road, Kresgeville. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call 1-800-RED Cross.
Tree lighting ceremony
Polk Township will hold a tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8 at the Veterans Memorial in Kresgeville, along Route 209. There will be a sing-a-long and Santa will arrive. After the ceremony, refreshments will be served. Parking will be available in the post office parking lot, or at Salem St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
