Coaldale is financially solvent
Dear Editor:
I am very pleased to inform the citizens of Coaldale that at their December regular meeting, the town council voted unanimously to adopt the 2014 budget.
This budget will not necessitate any tax increase whatsoever. I informed the citizens who were present - which included all the newly elected council members, as well as our next mayor - that the new council will take office with our borough having no outstanding bills or loans that need to be paid off.
The sole reason for this is due to the fact that the current council has been such excellent stewards of the borough's funds. It is because of this reason that Coaldale is now financially solvent for the first time in recent history.
My own experience with the council members during the past four years has always been positive. The citizen of Coaldale have truly been blessed to have had everyone who served on the council for the past four years running the business of the borough. All of them have always worked tirelessly in the best interest of our borough.
As I stated at the meeting, I wish all of the newly elected members of the council, as well as our next mayor, every possible future success.
Sincerely,
Richard P. Corkery
Mayor
