Mr. and Mrs. J. Christopher West
Johnna Leigh Yurko, daughter of Sharon and Robert Yurko of Summit Hill, and J. Christopher West, son of Carol West and Jay Stevens of Tunkhannock, were united in marriage on Dec. 15, 2012 at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn in Stroudsburg.
The Rev. Ellyn Kravette officiated the double ring ceremony, which included music on violin and cello by Penn Strings.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Yvette Yurko of Allentown to be maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mandy Breiner, Nesquehoning ,and Jennifer Horvath, Stroudsburg.
The bridegroom chose Jerry Vaiana of Fairfax Station, Va., to perform the duties of best man. Ushers were Mark Shanton, Nesquehoning; Nick Sacco, Allentown; Steve Strauss, Lehighton; and Lenny Oriel, Lebanon, Pa.
A reception was held at Ridgecrest at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn.
The couple are both graduates of Panther Valley High School. The bride earned a bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Scranton, and a master of science degree in classroom technology from Wilkes University. She is employed as a third-grade teacher at Panther Valley Elementary School.
The bridegroom earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from Moravian College and a master's degree in educational administration. He is employed as superintendent of schools at Behavioral Health Associates.
The couple reside in Lake Harmony.
