The bride-to-be is the daughter of Louis R. and Linda Mitchalk of Summit Hill. She is a graduate of Panther Valley High School and West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She is employed as a fourth-grade teacher at Chester Community Charter School.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Michael and Debra Kern of Chester Heights, Pa. He is a graduate of Garnet Valley High School and East Stroudsburg University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. He is employed by Chester Community Charter School.
A June 22, 2013 wedding is being planned.
