Limit one term

Published March 02. 2013 09:01AM

Dear Editor:

There was a vacancy filled on the Lansford-Coaldale Joint Water Authority for a five-year term. For this member it was his third terms as a member of the Lansford-Coaldale Joint Water Authority. I would like to know why a member is allowed to hold more than one term. If this is the case, a member could end up serving for his or her lifetime, if he or she has friends on council.

Limit this position to one five year term for all members. Give some other tax payers a chance. I think Lansford Borough Council should take this into consideration when there is a vacancy to be filled.

Thank you,

Robert Benek,

former LansfordBorough Councilman
