Changes needed

Published May 18. 2013 09:04AM

Dear Editor:

I must reiterate that which I stated some time ago, in response to another of Mr. Vadyak's communications regarding Lansford borough matters.

I do not believe this column is the proper venue to address the fabricated, mostly imaginary or some actual real issues of Mr. Vadyak. Problems regarding the borough should be handled properly and with decorum at council meetings.

If there are Lansford residents who may be concerned by any of the topics raised by Vadyak's letter, I urge them to attend our council meetings which are then the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the borough meeting room, 1 W. Ridge St., Lansford. Public comment is held before the start of business.

For Mr. Vadyak to once again feel the need to discuss borough issues in this manner (letter to the editor), is quite puzzling to me. Nothing is solved in this manner. It is my opinion, he does it to gain attention.

To be a champion of "the people" is an admirable goal to seek. However, trying to achieve this end by creating controversy, causing negativism, producing ill will among employees and council members alike is disheartening and repugnant.

Once again, we welcome residents to our meetings and will try to answer any of their concerns.

Sincerely,

Rose Marie Cannon, President Lansford Council
