Nesquehoning

Free lunch for kids

The Nesquehoning Free Lunch for Kids is open 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during the summer at Meed's Methodist Church.

No meal will be served on Thursday this week, due to a funeral luncheon.

Donations from organizations and businesses can be sent to Grace Vanmartin in care of the church.

Summit Hill

Float winners

The Summit Hill Memorial Day Parade Committee has announced the winners of the parade's float contest.

The St. Gabriel's Italian Club was the first place winner. Winning second place was Winnie-the-Pooh Pre-School and third place was won by the Summit Hill Hootenanny committee.

The winners received prizes of $200, $100 and $50, respectively.

Tonight at 7 p.m., St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, will hold an informal worship. This will be a spiritual, peaceful, evening service with Holy Communion. All are welcome.
