Palmerton couple celebrates 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anthony Sr. of Palmerton recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on July 14, 1962 by the Rev. Fredick Bender at St. John's Episcopal Church, Palmerton.

Mrs. Anthony is the former RuthAnn Weidman, daughter of the late Franklin Weidman of Summit Hill and the late Anna Hayick of Palmerton.

Mr. Anthony was the son of the late Wilbert and LaRue Anthony of Palmerton.

They have three children, Robert Jr. and his wife April of Aston, Pa.; Chris and hiw wife Sheri of Palmerton; and Pam, wife of Jeff Storm of Palmerton. They also have seven grandchildren.

To celebrate their anniversary, the happy couple was surprised with a day of family portrait taking in the Palmerton Borough Park and a dinner at Roadies Restaurant in Jim Thorpe.
