Graduates with honors
Brittany Homcha of Nesquehoning graduated cum laude from Washington & Jefferson College, Washington, Pa, on May 19, with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry.
While at Washington & Jefferson College, Brittany was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She was the recipient of the W.J. Presidential Scholarship all four years of her studies and was named to the dean's list numerous times. Brittany worked for the college as a laboratory assistant as well as volunteered as a tutor and mentor for high school in the Washington County School District.
Brittany has been active in numerous volunteer health organizations and is pursuing further studies in the medical field. She also serves as an assistant coach for the Marian High School Volleyball team.
Brittany is the daughter of Steve and Marg Homcha of Nesquehoning and the granddaughter of Frank and Helen Homcha of Nesquehoning and Joseph and Florence Filia of Summit Hill. She is a 2008 graduate of Marian Catholic High School.
