Nesquehoning couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shubeck of Nesquehoning recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Sept. 29, 1962 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Nesquehoning by the late Monsignor Agnello Angelini.

Mrs. Shubeck is the former Gloria Cerchiaro, daughter of the late Frank and Lucia Cerchiaro of Nesquehoning. Her husband is the son of the late Mary Shubeck of Coaldale.

The Shubecks have three children: a daughter, Lisa Shubeck of Nesquehoning; and two sons, Frank Shubeck, and his wife Wendy, and Robert Shubeck, all of Nesquehoning.

They have four grandchildren: Ashley, 18; Jaden, 10; Frankie, 5; and Liam, 4.

Bob and Gloria were treated to a surprise weekend getaway at The Borgata in Atlantic City, with front row tickets to a Tony Bennett concert.

They were also surprised with a dinner party at Macaluso's in Nesquehoning, with their friends and family.
