Named Senior of the Month at Weatherly

Jessica Adamczyk, daughter of Brian and Leann Miller, Weatherly, and the late Michael Adamczyk, has been named Senior of the Month for September at Weatherly Area High School.

Jessica serves as treasurer for the Class of 2013 and as president of SGA. She is a member of the volleyball and softball teams, as well as the high school chorus and Scholastic Scrimmage team.

She is active in Student Forum, Partners in Education, and Science Olympiad, and is the recipient of the Dr. Dessen Leader Scholarship Award through Junior Leadership.

Last year, Jessica was appointed an ambassador to the Weatherly area for the Side-Out Foundation for cancer awareness. For her graduation project, Jessica organized a "Dig Pink" event at the high school, which raised over $1,000 for the foundation.

Jessica was invited to lead Weatherly again in a similar event held at Marian High School this year. In the community, Jessica is a blood donor for the American Red Cross and a statistician for the Weatherly Summer Volleyball League. She is employed at Old Navy in Hazleton.
