Woman flees traffic stop, is apprehended

A Monroe County woman who fled a traffic stop was located and is facing charges.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers made a traffic stop of a Hyundai sedan at 11:25 a.m. Jan. 6 along Long Pond Road in Tunkhannock Township for a vehicle code violation. The driver got out of the vehicle and fled. However, she was quickly apprehended and identified as Michelle Conti, 35, of 1109 Blue Grass Lane, Effort.

Police said charges of escape and driving with a suspended license were filed against Conti.
