Amanda Freeby will be the director of this year's Vacation Bible School. The theme will be Amazing Desert Journey. It will be held from July 23-July 27, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 6th and North Streets. Local churches should have received registration forms, however you may call Ms Freeby, at (570) 401-3729. She is also looking for volunteers to help, and high school students may use this as part of the graduation project.

Openings

This is openings on the Jim Thorpe Civil Service Commission. Any Jim Thorpe resident interesting in sitting on the board, should send letters of interest to the borough office by July 14.

Booster club meeting

The next monthly Touchdown Club meeting is Monday, July 9 at 6 p.m. at the Jim Thorpe Area High School commons area. On the agenda is the upcoming football program advertising sales as well as other fundraisers.

The Touchdown Club is the fundraising booster club for the Jim Thorpe high school football program serving children from seventh to 12th grade. If you have a child interested in playing football or who plays football, please try to attend. All are welcome.
