Touching on some issues

Published July 14. 2012 09:01AM

Dear Editor:

People have been asking me in my travels, "Where's a letter? Why haven't you been writing anything?"

Truth be told, I usually write about something that ticks me off and although there were a few things that have, I did not take the time to write them down. Most things are time sensitive and if you don't respond in a few days, nobody knows what you are talking about!

After all, John Q. Public has a short memory!

What to write about???

Well, the east side of Chunk bridge was fixed. Let me rephrase that, it was repaired. It could be better, but it's still a lot better than it was. I hope it will last until the new bridge is done. Lord only knows when that will be, soon I hope.

Also, 903 was repaved from 13th Street to the Turnpike, it's not totally finished, but a lot better to drive better than the idiot fix they did last year the tar and chip special what a waste of time and material.

Anyhow, thank you PennDOT.

Enjoyed the Memorial Day Parade from the Bevan. Sorry Bro Chas, I mean the Bott Building parking lot. Although short, but sweet, I still enjoyed it. There seemed to be a good attendance between Sixth and Seventh streets, but I was told overall the attendance was sparse.

Sad to say, I guess it's a sign of the times. Everyone has something better to do.

A fire a few weeks ago back on South Street could have been a lot worse than it was. I don't know all of the particulars. All I can say is GOOD JOB to all the firemen who responded.

I also heard that musical chairs was played on the porches of Center Avenue. The case was solved. All chairs were returned to their rightful owners. Seems whenever nonsense happens the fingers of blame is always pointed in my direction. I don't know why???
