Northern Lehigh School Board recently approved:
Personnel
• Resignation of Tami Herman from her position as Peters Elementary cafeteria aide, effective Feb. 14.
• Resignation of Diane Lengel from her position as clerk typist to the director of special education, effective June 15. Lengel will retire from the district with 20 years of service.
• Appointed Raymond Ross as a Peters Elementary School second grade teacher, replacing a teacher on a family medical leave of absence, at the substitute teacher rate days 1-30 at $120 a day, day 31 and beyond; $47,750, effective on or about March 15, with a termination date at the end of the 2017-18 school year.
• Appointed Lisa Hoever as a Slatington Elementary School third-grade teacher, replacing a teacher on a family medical leave of absence, at the substitute teacher rate days 1-30 at $120 a day, day 31 and beyond; $47,750, prorated, effective Feb. 23, with a termination date at the end of the 2017-18 school year.
• Appointed Angie Thomas as a lunch room monitor at Peters Elementary School, at a salary of $10.93 per hour, two hours a day, five days per week, Monday through Friday, up to 180 student days, effective immediately.
• Appointed Robert Bechtel and Stephanie Sigley as second shift custodians, at a salary of $13.07 per hour, from 2:30-11 p.m., five days per week, effective immediately.
• Agreed to add a new Skilled Lead Maintenance position to the budget, and further to immediately advertise and hire for that position. The position this year will be paid for from savings in custodial maintenance salaries, and will be budgeted for in future years.
• Agreed to advertise and hire six summer workers and one supervisor. The rate for summer workers will not exceed $10 per hour, and the rate for the supervisor will not exceed $15 per hour.
Contracts
• Agreed to enter into a three-year agreement with IntegraOne for a software subscription for Webroot advanced threat protection, which includes Continuum management software at a cost of $3 per month per desktop machine, and $12 per month per server, billed on a monthly basis of actual usage.
• Approved the administration’s and building and grounds committee’s recommendation of McClure Company as the district’s Energy Services Company to develop an Investment Grade Audit report.
• Agreed to enter into an agreement with The DeSales Partners in Education Consortium, which will afford professional staff the opportunity to take graduate courses at DeSales University at state approved tuition rates.
• Approved Link to attend the PASA New Superintendents’ Academy — Part 1 — Strategic & Cultural Leadership Conference July 12-13 at the PASA offices in Harrisburg, with the cost of registration $229, lodging $139, and travel $89, for a total cost of $457, to be funded from the superintendent’s budget.
• Agreed to dispose of the district’s 1981 Chevrolet van and 1994 Chevrolet truck.
