Northern Lehigh will not exceed tax rate index
Northern Lehigh School District won’t exceed the tax rate index should it opt to increase property taxes for the 2020-21 school year.
The school board approved the Act 1 Tax Levy resolution on Tuesday.
The resolution states that if the board raises the property tax rate, it will not go above its tax rate index of 3.5 percent.
In June, the board agreed to adopt the general fund final budget for the 2019-20 school year with a 3% tax increase.
The $35,714,360 spending plan called for a 22.51 millage rate for Lehigh County and a 66.01 millage rate for Northampton County.
