Northumberland man dies in Schuylkill crash

A Northumberland County man died of injuries sustained in a crash in Schuylkill County on Tuesday morning.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred about 5:32 a.m. along Deep Creek Road in Barry Township. Troopers said Jesse L. Miller, 30, of Mount Carmel, was driving a 2006 Subaru Impreza westbound and entered into the eastbound lane where is vehicle collided head-on with a 2017 Ford F350 truck operated by John R. Neumeister, 44, of Hegins.

Upon impact, the Impreza came to final rest in a grassy area off the westbound lane. The Ford continued east after impact and struck an embankment along the berm.

Miller was removed from his vehicle and taken by ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East Campus, Pottsville, were he died, troopers said. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Neumeister was not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.
