Notre Dame Club of Schuylkill County donates its proceeds

  • Empty

The Notre Dame Club of Schuylkill County recently donated $1,300 to the Diligence Fire Company No. 1, Summit Hill, representing proceeds of its T-shirt sales in conjunction with the annual ND Tailgate Party held at the Batter’s Box, Summit Hill, which preceded the Fighting Irish’s win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. This year’s “tailgate shirt” was dedicated to the memory of Robert “Gurt” O’Gurek, a staunch ND fan who passed away last February. John Poko, far right, fire company representative, accepted the donation from O’Gurek’s widow, Billie, along with family and club members. Participating were, from left, club members Joe “Fuzzy” O’Donnell and Jeff Szczecina; Gurt’s daughter, Trish O’Gurek, holding son Michael’ sons Justin, Bobby and Ryan O’Gurek; and club member Rich Gould.
