Officials: Palmerton medical offices plan still needs some work
A plan for creating medical offices along Delaware Avenue in Palmerton needs some more work, Carbon County officials said.
On Tuesday, the Carbon County Planning Commission recommended conditional plan rejection for a lot line revision/land development plan by St. Luke’s. The two-phase plan calls for combining five lots to create two lots. The lots, located from 614 through 636 Delaware Ave., include Haja Lanes, Mountain Karate Academy, Snyder’s Auto Repair and Terry’s Winner Circle, which were purchased by the hospital earlier this year for a future health care facility.
Ivan O. Meixell, county planner, outlined his findings to the commission.
A total of 20 items were outlined that need to be addressed before the planning commission would sign off on the plan.
Issues include obtaining certain permits, applying for waivers, correcting figures that conflict on plans, and other requirements of Palmerton’s subdivision and land development ordinances.
The commission’s remarks will be sent to the borough to be included in future discussions on the plans.
