One person is dead, and another unaccounted for, after a house fire early this morning in Lehigh Township.

Township police Chief Scott Fogel said in a news release that at 12:47 a.m., the township police and fire departments were dispatched to an explosion and fire that occurred at 1132 Blue Mountain Dr., Danielsville.

The residents were identified as Bruce Miller Jr., 36, and his 10-year-old son, Bruce Allan Miller, Fogel said.

As of this afternoon, Fogel said the remains of one of the bodies was recovered, though the identity is unknown.

State police fire marshals and the Lehigh Township fire marshal are on scene assisting with determining the cause of the fire and explosion, he said.

Northampton County coroner Zach Lysek is on scene as well.

There is equipment and personnel searching the building remains, Fogel said.

The fire was under control at 3:20 a.m., he said.

Fogel said the home was a two-story farmhouse built in the early 1900s.

I know these people personally. His parents own Millers store on the corner in Danielsville. They are very nice people & would help anybody if they can’t afford something to eat in there store. I’m very sad for them. If your in the area please stop in & offer your condolences. Thanks
