One person dies in Effort house fire

One person has died in a fire this morning at the corner of James Road and Johns Road in Effort.
The fire in the Sun Valley area of Chestnuthill Township was called in at 7:20 a.m.
West End Fire Company responded and found smoke and flames in the living section and the basement. They called firefighters from Polk, Penn Forest and Tunkhannock townships to assist.
The two-story home was destroyed.
The state police fire marshal and Monroe County Coroner Thomas Yanac are on scene.
