Outdoors Food Truck Festival set for second run
More food, more vendors and more fun.
That’s what visitors can expect when they attend the second annual Northern Lehigh Recreation Authority’s Everything Outdoors Food Truck Festival from 2-6 p.m. July 27 in the Walnutport Borough Park on Lincoln Avenue.
The event will feature a variety of food trucks, including Grumpy’s BBQ, Geakers Tacos, Kona Ice, the Krazy Chicken Lady, Cool Treats, Bananarama, Bull & Bear, Diggity Dogs, Josie’s Funnel Cakes and Doggie Style.
In addition, there will be many vendors whose focus is the outdoors, such as the D&L Heritage Trail, Wildlands Conservancy, Northampton County Open Space, L.L. Bean, Lehigh Valley Orienteering, the Appalachian Mountain Club, Backwoods Outdoor Center, Fast Lane Recreation and more.
Also, craft brewer Taylor House Brewing Company will be on hand, and Steel Creek will perform. There will also be activities for children.
Lindsay Taylor, executive director of the Northern Lehigh Recreation Authority, said the food truck concept has been picking up steam.
“Food truck festivals are growing increasingly popular,” Taylor said. “Almost every event now will have food trucks at them.”
Taylor said the event brings families and the community together.
“It also gives us some continued exposure as an important part of the Northern Lehigh community,” she said. “It’s just an opportunity to give people a chance to learn about these various organizations.”
Taylor said the recreation authority is pleased to offer the event for the community to enjoy.
“For us, it’s another step in the authority’s evolution as a recreation and leisure service provider for the community,” she said. “We love to offer events like this and want to offer more events like this, with the goal of the authority looking to grow into its eventual future home.”
Admission is free, and the event will be held rain or shine.
