Overdose brings drug charges

Published August 06. 2018 12:45PM

A Schuylkill Haven woman who overdosed on drugs in Tamaqua, and was revived with Narcan, faces charges in the July 13 incident.

Tamaqua police and EMS personnel were called to the 300 block of Cedar Street at 3:33 a.m. for a possible cardiac arrest. They found Shyann Nichole Boyer, 24, unresponsive on the kitchen floor. Tamaqua EMS members administered Narcan, which successfully revived Boyer.

Before being transported to the hospital for follow-up care, Boyer was asked if she had any needles or drugs in her pockets. She pulled out a bag filled with about 200 baggies of white powder and a bag with several crystal rocks of suspected methamphetamine. Several syringes and a glass pipe were also recovered.

Boyer was transported to St. Luke’s Miners Campus in Coaldale and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Comments
Why is she not charged with possesion with intent to deliver? It got delivered right to the "evidence locker". Crooked bastards.
