Pa. flag lowered in memory of Schuylkill commissioner

Gov. Tom Wolf ordered the commonwealth flag on all commonwealth facilities, public buildings and grounds in Schuylkill County to fly at half-staff to honor Schuylkill County Commissioner Frank J. Staudenmeier, who died Saturday on vacation with his family in Florida.

Staudenmeier has been a commissioner since 2002.

The commonwealth flag was lowered to half-staff until sunset on Tuesday and will be lowered again on the day of the funeral, Saturday.

All services will take place at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1115 Walnut Street, Ashland. Viewings will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 a.m.

The U.S. flag is to remain at full staff through this tribute. All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.
