Palmerton Area School Board

Palmerton Area School District’s board of directors took the following action during Tuesday night’s meeting:

• Approved Angela Rivera as a short-term substitute for Adrienne Pelo, first grade teacher at Towamensing, beginning on or about March 16 and continuing for six to 10 weeks.

• Accepted the resignation of Amanda Zellers from her position as high school café worker effective Feb. 21.

• Approved Ryan Kish to attend the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials conference from March 17-19 at a cost not to exceed $1,200 to be paid from the business office budget.

• Approved Alan Lonoconus to attend the PASBO conference from March 17-19 at a cost not to exceed $800 to be paid from the superintendent’s budget.

• Accepted the $7,000 donation from the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club to be used toward elementary field trips transportation costs.

• Approved the rental agreement with York Theatre Department for costume garments for the drama club performance of “The Big Fish.” Costs will be paid for by the drama club.

• Approved the Carbon County Community Foundation organizational fund agreement, pending solicitor review.
