Palmerton businesses get new landlord

Published December 13. 2017 01:06PM

Bennett Family Properties in Lehighton has picked up the deed for some Palmerton properties, but tenants and customers can rest easy knowing that the business intends to keep everything as it is.

“We have very fine tenants in there presently, and we are going to retain those tenants,” Joe Bennett said. “We have good people there, and we are going to keep it that way and let them flourish.”

A property transfer listing on Friday showed Mark W. Stemler selling 179 through 185 Delaware Ave. in Palmerton to Bennett’s company for $900,000.

Currently, the properties are occupied by DaVita Palmerton Dialysis Center, the Carbon Foot and Ankle Center, Q Dental Care, and Blue Mountain Health System.

“We’re excited because St. Luke’s is in the process of acquiring Blue Mountain Health System,” Bennett said, noting that the property provides Palmerton residents with multiple medical office options.

Bennett said that property manager Mike Loftos will maintain his current position, and that outside of a few cosmetic repairs in the spring, there are no plans for major work on the buildings.

“We’re looking forward to expanding upon our success,” Bennett said.
