Basket auction
The Friends of the Palmerton Area Library are sponsoring a basket auction for the month of August. Also you may purchase a reusable tote bag to fill up with books, movies, CDs and puzzles from the basement sale. All proceeds benefit the library.
Sights & Sounds
JUCC in Trachsville is sponsoring a bus to Sights & Sounds Theatres to see the “Miracle of Christmas” on Dec. 6. The bus will leave JUCC at 12:30 p.m., lunch and shopping at Shady Maple, and arrive at the theater at 6 p.m. For ticket information, call the church office at 610-681-4412.
Duck race
The Palmerton Cat Project will host its second annual Duck Race from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Riverwalck Saloon, Parryville. There will be vendors, a tricky tray, a 50/50, good food and drinks. Purchase your duck and cheer it on. Cash prizes will be awarded.
Park concert
The final concert in the Palmerton Borough Park will be by the Palmerton Band from 7-8:30 p.m. Aug. 21. This concert is sponsored by a friend of the concert series. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the great music.
Breakfast
An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Menu items include eggs to order, potatoes, pancakes, SOS, toast, cereal, hash, ham, bacon, sausage and more. Includes OJ, milk, coffee and tea.
Community meal
A free community meal will be served from 4-6 p.m. Aug. 22 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. Come enjoy a free meal and fellowship.
