Family movie night
The Palmerton Area High School Drama Club, in anticipation of their upcoming play, “A Christmas Story,” is hosting a family movie night showing of the classic film this Saturday in the high school auditorium. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The movie begins at 6 p.m. Movie theater snacks and drinks may be purchased.
Breakfast
An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Menu items include eggs to order, potatoes, pancakes, SOS, toast, cereal, hash, ham, bacon, sausage, OJ, coffee, milk, and tea. Adult and children prices available.
Palmerton food pantry
The Palmerton Food Pantry for families in need will be open from 8:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton.
Food collection
Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton will be collecting Thanksgiving food for the Palmerton food pantry until Sunday. They will accept boxed stuffing, boxed mashed potatoes, gravy, canned vegetables, etc. Church members will help distribute the food along with turkeys and other food items at the food pantry on Nov. 22.
CACPAC
CACPAC is sponsoring the Blue Ridge toy, coat and food drive for needy people in the Palmerton area. Boxes are located at Country Harvest, Dunkin’ Donuts, Family Dollar, Borough Hall and many churches. New toys, new or gently used coats, personal care items, paper items or nonperishable foods are welcome. Monetary donations can be mailed to CACPAC c/o St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton. All donations are greatly appreciated.
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
On Sunday, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold Sunday school and worship at 10:15 a.m. Adult Sunday school is at 9 a.m. The church council will meet at 6:30 p.m.
