Palmerton Area Library

The Palmerton Area Library will be closed on Friday due to building maintenance. Any materials already due that date have been adjusted.

St. Vladimir’s Church

St. Vladimir’s Church, 100 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, will be holding a bake sale and luncheon from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ethnic foods, baked goods, nut tossies, kiffles, halupki and pierogies to go. Come to eat in or take out.

Church bazaar

Trinity Lutheran Church, 500 Ore St., Bowmanstown will hold a bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Will have a bake sale, basket raffle and soups to go by quarts or pints. The kitchen will be open with lunch items including soup, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, barbecues, hot dogs, macaroni salad, drinks and desserts.

PTO Annual Craft Fair

The S.S. Palmer/Parkside PTO Annual Craft Fair will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Palmerton Area High School, Fireline Road, Palmerton.

Craft & Vendor Show

A craft and vendor show will be held at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Direct vendor sales and homemade crafts. The kitchen will be open.

Garden Medley Concert

Join together at the Palmerton Area Library for traditional old time folk music with Johan Talbott at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The event is free and open to the public.

Free spaghetti dinner

A free community spaghetti dinner will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday at Salem United Methodist Church, 4145 Forest Inn Road, Palmerton (Aquashicola). The menu will be spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread and butter, dessert and beverage.

Roast beef dinner

A hot roast beef dinner will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Parryville Volunteer Fire Company, 359 Main St., Parryville. Adult and kids platters available.

Thanksgiving filling sale

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) is holding a filling sale. Orders are due by Sunday. Pick up at the church from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 26 or from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 27. For cost and to order, call 610-681-5200. Fresh made, not frozen.

Holy Trinity News

Children’s special involvement in the worship service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will be at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday.

Bible study is held on Mondays from 1-3 p.m. at St. Matthew’s and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Adult Education Room at Holy Trinity.

Vera Bradley & Coach bingo

St. John Neumann Regional School, Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will host a Vera Bradley & Coach Bingo on Sunday. The doors open at 12:30 p.m. and bingo starts at 1:30 p.m. The kitchen will be open.

Historical society

The Palmerton Area Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the Knight’s Gallery of the Palmerton Area Library. David Altrichter will share his love of Slatington and the Slate Industry.

Community meal

A free community meal will be served from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton. Come enjoy a free meal and fellowship.

Family history

Do you know who your family is? Visit the Palmerton Area Library, Palmerton from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to learn how to research your family history. This is held the second Tuesday of each month.

Grief & Loss support group

The Monthly Grief and Loss Support Group at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) now meets twice a month. For the month of November the group will meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 13 and 6:30 p.m. Nov. 26. The group is directed by professional counselor Sue Featro. This group is for people experiencing grief due to trauma, loss or death. It is an effort to assist people in the surrounding community to heal and find peace.

Third Monday Book Club

The Third Monday Book Club will meet at the Palmerton Area Library from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 18. The November book is “An Irish Country Doctor” by Patrick Taylor. New members are welcome.
