Class of 1948

All classmates, spouses, companions, and caregivers are invited to the Palmerton Area High School Class of 1948’s next quarterly luncheon. The luncheon will be held at Bert’s Restaurant, Delaware Avenue in Palmerton at noon Oct. 19. Come and spend an afternoon of fellowship and fun. Little White Church

Want to hear some spooky tales? Join author Charles Adams III as he tells his tales. The Palmerton Historical Society invites you to this free event at 7 p.m. Monday at the Little White Church on Third Street. For information, call 610-824-6954.

Halloween Parade

The Palmerton Halloween Parade will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday. The parade will form at the Seventh Street field. The parade will travel to Lafayette Avenue, to Second Street and turn left onto Franklin Avenue, turn left and go to Third Street, and turn right to Delaware Avenue, turn left on Delaware Avenue, and return to Seventh Street, where the parade will disband.

The First UCC will be selling treats, drinks and hot foods. Be sure to visit their stand.

Library Quilt Show

The Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave., from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 22. . There is a $5 donation. Guild store, door prizes, vendors, basket auction and more. To exhibit or enter quilts, call the library at 610-826-3424. The event is sponsored by the Sew What Quilt Guild.

Over 60 Club

The Over 60 Club of Palmerton will meet at noon Oct. 17 at Palmerton Borough Hall, 443 Delaware Ave. There will be a speaker in CPR.

Fall Basket Social

Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) will hold its annual fall basket social from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday with theme baskets, raffle, bake sale, fresh made chow chow and apple butter, homemade soups and barbecue. Two baskets will have $25 hidden among its contents. For information, call 610-681-5200.

Oldies Dance

An oldies dance featuring Olde Friends will be held from 7-10 p.m. Nov. 4. The PACE Makers Association invites you to the West End Fire Co. No. 2, 855 W. Princeton Ave., Palmerton, for an evening of great music and fun. Doors open at 6 p.m. BYOB with soda and snacks provided. For tickets and prices, call Penny at 484-695-9134 or Terry at 610-826-3393. Proceeds benefit area recreation.

Towamensing PTO

Towamensing PTO will hold a craft fair and basket social from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the elementary school, 7920 Interchange Road, Lehighton. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. Will also hold a bake sale.

Breakfast buffet

An all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet will be held at the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton, from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday. Food items include bacon, sausage, ham, hash, home fries, eggs to order, pancakes, S.O.S., toast and cereal. Also orange juice, milk, coffee, tea and cocoa.
