St. Vladimir’s Church

St. Vladimir’s Church, 101 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, will hold an ethnic food, bake sale and luncheon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 4. They will have kiffles, nut tossies, pies, pumpkin rolls, breads, halupki, pierogies and more. For more information, call 610-826-2716.

Concourse Club

The Concourse Club of Palmerton will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Nov. 2 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fireline Road, Palmerton.

Guest speaker will be Joe Guardiani, vice president of Development & Government Relations, Blue Mountain Health Systems. Bring a friend and join club members as Guardiani leads a discussion on the current drug crisis across the nation and the local area. He has a background in Drug & Alcohol, and has brought his expertise to the hospital system.

Leaf collection

Leaf burning is prohibited in Palmerton. The borough will collect leaves, following posting on your street for which day. Leaves should be placed out for collection just before pickup along the curb, not in the street, so they don’t find their way into storm drains.

Holy Trinity news

A joint service with St. Matthew’s will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton at 9:30 on Sunday. Sunday school will be held at 10:15 a.m. and Adult Sunday school will be at 9 a.m. This is Reformation Sunday. Don’t forget to wear red. Bible study opportunities are Mondays from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at St. Matthew’s and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Adult Education Room at Holy Trinity. You are welcome to be a part of either or both.

Trick or treat

Just a reminder, trick or treat night will be held in the borough of Palmerton from 6-8 p.m. Saturday. Residents are asked to have their porch lights on if they wish to participate in this fun event. Parents, children and drivers are asked to be careful.
