Palmerton OKs salary increase for manager

Published August 01. 2019 12:33PM

Palmerton Borough Council approved a $5,000 annual salary increase for its borough manager last week.

Following a two-hour executive session, council agreed to raise Donna McGarry’s salary to $75,000 a year as of July 1, up from $70,000. McGarry took over the position in April.

After that same session, council also denied an undisclosed grievance from officer Dane O’Brien of Palmerton Police. Councilmembers Holly Sell, Kris Hoffner and William Gallagher, alongside Council President Terry Costenbader voted in favor of denying the grievance.

Randolph Gursky and Michael Ballard were opposed.
