Palmerton producer collaborates on new Godsmack video

Godsmack’s new album, “When Legends Rise,” was released Friday, and “Bulletproof,” the first single on the album, has reached number one on the Sirius XM rock charts.

The music video of “Bulletproof” was brought to life by Palmerton native producer and editor Noah Berlow, whose relationship with Godsmack lead singer Sully Erna goes back to 2010 and their work on the documentary “Journey to Avalon.”

This year marks the 20th year since the release of Godsmack’s first album. The “Bulletproof” video features special guest appearances by country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and heavy metal frontman Sebastian Bach of Skid Row.

“What makes this video unique is that it’s a 10-minute short narrative film with a story within a story,” said Berlow, whose own diverse background and 14 years of work in the film and entertainment industry brought a wealth of experience in producing and editing music, documentary, narrative and entertainment films to the project.

“‘Bulletproof’ and the whole album displays an evolution of the Godsmack hard rock sound, but fans will still recognize the uniqueness of the Godsmack brand with Sully’s melodic harmonies combined with a softer version of the aggressive rock energy of the band.”

The creative friendship and collaboration between Berlow and Erna began when Berlow first worked with Erna on a feature documentary film “Journey to Avalon” and his concert, “Avalon Live” in the summer of 2010, both of which later aired on VH1’s Palladia TV.

When Erna and director Troy Smith decided that they wanted the next Godsmack video to be a narrative short film, they both knew they wanted Berlow and his vision to help produce the project and do the edit.

Born in Palmerton, Berlow is a graduate of Palmerton Area High School and the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College.

He currently lives in Los Angeles, where he runs his film production company, Immortal Cinema International LLC.
