The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for Feb. 24-28 is:

Monday: Split pea soup, open hot pork sandwich, mashed potatoes, orange or deli club sandwich

Tuesday: Swedish meatballs, noodles, green beans, tropical fruit or harvest chicken salad

Wednesday: Baked pasta and cheese, garlic spinach, Italian vegetables, ambrosia or beef and spinach sandwich

Thursday: Rotisserie chicken, green beans, creamed corn, fruit salad or beef & cheese sandwich

Friday: Fish almandine, scalloped potatoes, peas and onions, bread pudding or tuna fish sandwich

The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced upcoming events for Feb. 24-28.

Cards on Feb. 24 at 10 a.m.; Bingo on Feb. 25 at 10:45 a.m.; Yahtzee on Feb. 26 at 11 a.m.; Karaoke on Feb. 27 at 11 a.m.; Senior Game Practice on Feb. 28 at 10 a.m.

Bus trip to Sights and Sounds June 25 to see the Queen Esther Show.

Public library tax help

The Panther Valley Public Library will offer assistance to seniors age 60 and older who qualify for the rent/property tax rebate in preparing federal income tax form 1040 and the Pennsylvania tax return.

This service will be offered at the library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 14 and March 20.

Appointments are required for these services.

Donations to support the library will be accepted.

Meed’s Memorial

Meed’s Memorial United Methodist Church, 126 W. Catawissa St., has announced the following schedule at the church.

Sunday services will be held at 11 a.m. Nursery and children’s Sunday school are available during the service.

The church also hosts a clothing ministry from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

The next community dinner at the church will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 26. Ash Wednesday service will also be held at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26.
