Panther Valley student arrested for disturbance after lockdown

Published May 30. 2018 09:04AM

A Panther Valley student was arrested for causing a disturbance while the school was on lockdown for another incident that happened earlier that day.

Summit Hill police charged Braxton Mitchell, 19, of Lansford with disorderly conduct after he caused a disturbance and yelled obscenities because he didn’t want to sit in his seat on May 11.

This event happened at 11:53 a.m., an hour after the junior-senior high school was placed on red alert after a spent bullet was found in a girls’ locker room.

At the time, Carbon County Emergency Management Agency, as well as police from Summit Hill, Lansford and a K-9 unit from Pennsylvania State Police were conducting a sweep of the building.
