Parryville upgrades its playground equipment
Children in Parryville have a reason to be excited, as they look forward to a new playground facility being put together thanks to special grants that the municipality’s Vice President Sharon Hinkle has collected.
The new equipment will provide safer toys for the children to play on such as teeter totters.
Old equipment has been dug up and replaced with new, safer play equipment.
“The equipment is in but the playground is not open yet,” Hinkle confirmed at the special meeting held at Parryville’s Borough Hall Monday night.
“Twelve inches of mulch were delivered and dumped into the play area to be spread out, but it is quite high and the mulch needs to settle more,” she said.
Due to mild temperatures with precipitation followed by seasonably cold weather, the mulch is frozen.
“We’re also looking into adjusting our insurance,” Hinkle said.
Once the playground is deemed safe, a grand opening sign — to be made by Jet Signs — will be up advertising the playground’s opening and thanking all who helped make it possible.
A tentative grand opening is set for this April.
