The passenger in a vehicle stopped by police has been cited.

At 11:42 p.m. Jan. 11, Summit Hill police officers observed a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt traveling east on Route 902 with the registration lights not illuminating.

A traffic stop was conducted. The front seat passenger was identified as Calysta Arielle Tucker, 20, of 113 W. Chew St., Allentown. Officers detected the odor of burned marijuana coming from the vehicle and ordered the driver and Tucker to exit the vehicle for a vehicle search.

As Tucker exited the vehicle, she was observed throwing something on the ground behind her. Officers retrieved the item and found it to be a plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana.

Tucker was taken into custody and transported to the police station where she waived her rights. She gave a written statement admitting she tried to get rid of evidence of the marijuana. The baggie contents tested positive for marijuana.

As a result, Tucker was charged with tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana or hashish.
