Performance to benefit The Garden of Giving
A concert to benefit The Garden of Giving will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at Cecilia Cohen Recital Hall, Fine Arts Building at East Stroudsburg University.
Ruth Kochera, who will perform solo piano as well as accompanying others has gathered some of the best musicians and dancers in the community to benefit the garden, which produces organic fruit, vegetables and eggs that are donated to food pantries and soup kitchens in Monroe County.
Performers include the Pennsylvania Dance Network, a student organization led by Maria Triano, that will perform step dancing; The Mountain Winds woodwind quintet; a combined choir performance with members from area churches and organizations; and local musical legends including Vale and Nicole Rideout, Sarah Ferguson, Bob Riday, Gary Raish, Scott Besser and more. There will be violin duets, French horn solos, and piano duets,
General admission is $15; seniors/students $10; and children 12 and under are free. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. for tricky tray/silent auction.
