Planned pole building gets approval in Nesquehoning
A project coming into Nesquehoning can proceed as planned, officials said.
Recently, the Nesquehoning Planning Commission and borough council gave the go-ahead for the construction of a 6,000-square-foot pole building on a portion of a parking lot owned by John Kovatch III.
The building is located directly behind the Kovatch Collision Center off Route 209 and next to the Little League fields. Once completed, it will be used for a warehouse for vehicles and other equipment.
A 105-by-110-foot area next to the proposed building will remain parking spaces for the St. Luke’s Nesquehoning medical facility, located across the street on Railroad Street.
Borough officials asked about any problems that could arise since the Little League field encroaches on the land.
They were told that it would not.
It was recommended that an easement between the Little League Association and Kovatch be drawn up.
Last month, the plans for the project were reviewed by the Carbon County Planning Commission and recommendations about items that needed to be addressed were made.
