Plans for Jim Thorpe farm stand advance
Plans for a proposed farm stand in Jim Thorpe got the green light from the Carbon County Planning Commission this week.
On Tuesday, Carbon County Commissioners’ Chairman Wayne Nothstein signed off on the planning commission’s review of Jake Arner Farms LLC’s proposed plan for the construction of a 960-square-foot farm stand building as part of phase 1 of the Canyon Rim Estates in Jim Thorpe. Nothstein had to sign off on the reviews so they could be forwarded to municipalities since the planning commission, which reviews and recommends to municipalities on their findings of plans, did not have a quorum at its monthly meeting.
The review outlined 12 items that should be addressed before Jim Thorpe signs off on the plans, including what days the business will be open.
The plans now will be forwarded to Jim Thorpe, who will have the final say on whether or not to approve the plans.
