Police arrest suspect in break-in at Split Rock

Kidder Township police reported the arrest of a Lackawanna County man for a burglary in May.

Police said on May 24 they investigated a burglary that took place on Crest Drive in Split Rock Resort. The suspect stole various electronics, DVDs, clothes and a club car golf cart. The golf cart was located later that day near Exit 95 of the turnpike.

On Monday, officers responded to a report of unwanted men on a property on Route 940 near White Haven. They identified the men as Timothy Mead, 25, of Moscow, and Daniel Mead, 31, of White Haven. Both had bench warrants from Monroe County and were taken into custody,

Officers then interviewed Timothy Mead in reference to burglaries in the area of Crest Drive in Split Rock.

Mead was charged with two counts of each of burglary and criminal trespass, and theft by unlawful taking, all felonies; and receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.

Timothy and Daniel Mead were then taken to the Carbon County prison on the bench warrants from Monroe County.
