Police report on drug cases
State police reported on the following arrests made by troopers.
• Salvatore Greco, 58, of Brodheadsville, is facing drug charges after he was found in possession of marijuana. State police at Stroudsburg said they found Greco sleeping in his vehicle at 7:56 a.m. on July 27 at Victoria Heights and Parish Park, in East Stroudsburg.
• At 1:26 p.m. on July 10 troopers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation along Fairway Drive at Marshalls Creek Road in Smithfield Township. During the stop troopers conducted a probable cause search and discovered illegal substances and drug paraphernalia.
The driver, a 39-year-old woman from Bushkill, who troopers declined to identify, failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence, possession of a small amount of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• State police at the Lehighton barracks said a woman who was found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia will be cited accordingly.
Police said they were assisting a disabled motorist at 9:54 p.m. July 12 at the intersection of Kunkletown Road and Silver Spring Boulevard in Eldred Township when the officer made contact with another driver in a 2013 Nissan Altima and learned she had the contraband in her possession. Police did not name the suspect.
• State police at Lehighton reported finding drugs and drug paraphernalia when executing a search warrant at 10 p.m. July 21 on White Street in Weissport. No other information was released. The investigation is continuing.
• Christine Tarone, 49, of Stroudsburg, is facing charges of driving under the influence of drugs after state police stopped a car she was driving at 9:46 p.m. July 23 on Route 209, just north of Old Route 115 in Hamilton Township.
Police said she was driving a 2019 Hyundai Kona and they stopped her for motor code violations.
She appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
She was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County DUI Center but refused to submit to a blood test.
• A Schuylkill County man has drug charges pending following a search of his residence.
State police at Reading said troopers and members of the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a Haven Street residence in Schuylkill Haven and found amounts of methamphetamine, marijuana, packaging material and drug paraphernalia.
Charges are pending against Robert Scott Dannenhower, 34, of Schuylkill Haven, troopers said.
