Police have arrested a 20-year-old man accused of striking another man in the face with a handgun.

Christopher Petrides, of Effort, allegedly assaulted the victim at a home in Penn Forest Township on Jan. 18.

The victim contacted police after he drove himself to St. Luke’s Monroe Campus.

He told police that Petrides struck him in the face with a black handgun several times and punched him. The victim said he fled the scene following the assault.

Petrides was arrested on Wednesday and sent to Carbon County Correctional Facility. Magisterial District Judge Eric Schrantz set bail at $75,000.
