Police: Schuylkill man attacked brother with machete

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Sunday and charged with attacking his brother with a machete

State police at Schuylkill Haven said troopers responded to a residence along Main Street in Klingerstown, Upper Mahantango Township, about 5 a.m. for an incident involving two brothers. On scene troopers learned that Noah Vitrano, 35, attacked his brother, Joshua Vitrano, 33, with a machete during a domestic altercation. Joshua Vitrano sustained numerous lacerations to his person and was transported to the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, for treatment.

Noah Vitrano fled the scene before troopers arrived but was picked up by troopers later in Klingerstown. He was arraigned by on-call District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville, on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and harassment. He was committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $50,000 straight cash bail.
