Published December 12. 2018 12:59PM

A Kunkletown woman is in custody after she allegedly threatened to shoot a man who came to repossess a washer and dryer that she failed to pay for.

Brandi Klinger, 42, faces charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, and resisting arrest or other law enforcement.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by trooper Christine Lashinski of the Lehighton State Police barracks:

At 9:45 a.m. Dec. 6, Lashinski responded to the area of Serfass Road and Sterling Valley Road in Polk Township to meet the victim for the report of an assault.

At that time, the victim explained he works for Aaron’s Furniture and was requested by Klinger to respond to her residence for the purpose of repossessing her washer and dryer which she failed to pay for.

The victim said the appointment was set up by Klinger and she was expecting his arrival. When he arrived at Klinger’s residence, Klinger became hostile and began ordering him to leave the residence.

The victim said that Klinger began shouting racial slurs and threatened to push him off the property.

As he retreated from the property, the victim said Klinger threatened to shoot him.

While speaking with the victim, he presented a valid work order to retrieve the washer and dryer from the residence.

Lashinski arrived at Klinger’s residence and attempted to interview her outside when she became uncooperative.

Trooper Justin Magluilo gave orders to Klinger to place her hands behind her back, which Klinger refused.

Magluilo and Lashinski ordered Klinger to stop resisting arrest and to place her hands behind her back, but she kept ignoring troopers’ commands and force was used to control Klinger as she was taken into custody.

Lashinski transported Klinger to the Lehighton barracks for questioning.

Klinger said the victim called her to say he was lost and wanted directions to her residence. She said the victim became aggressive on the phone, and she called Aaron’s back to reschedule for another time.

Klinger said the victim tried to push past her in the residence, which is when she called 911 for police to arrive.

Klinger is currently incarcerated in the Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Klinger is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. Dec. 21 before District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.
