Police: Woman used drugs with toddler in home

A Tobyhanna woman is charged with using drugs in the presence of her 20-month-old son.

Kathryn W. Stroke, 32, of the 1100 block of Jewel Terrace, is facing charges of endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia after Pocono Mountain Regional Police.

They responded to her residence at 6 p.m. Dec. 10 and found her unresponsive.

Stroke was arraigned and taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville. Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.

Her toddler was taken into protective custody by the county’s Office of Children and Youth Services.

Police said they were dispatched to the woman’s residence and found Stroke unresponsive and under the influence of heroin. Police said they also found drug paraphernalia in close proximity to the child.
