Polk grants conditional approval for church expansion

Published April 24. 2019 12:46PM

Cornerstone Community Church is one step closer to expanding its facility after Monday evening’s Polk Township board of supervisors meeting.

Monday night the supervisors voted to grant conditional approval for the church’s plan to add on to its existing building to create additional classroom and meeting space as well as creating more parking.

The church requested a few minor waivers for exterior lighting, number of trees to be planted and a request for about 20 extra parking spaces. The planning commission had four minor conditions including proof of NPDES permit from the Department of Environmental Protection for stormwater management, a development agreement on file, a drainage easement for landscaping and for a reduction in the depth of a basin.

The planning commission recommended that the supervisors grant the conditional approval and the waivers requested by Cornerstone.
