Registration is open for annual human services brunch
There is still time to register for the 10th annual Human Services Priority Brunch in Carbon County.
The brunch on April 26 will touch on mental health issues in the community.
The event, which is open to all county agencies and the public, will be held at Whispering Pines, Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Company 1, 1387 Route 903, Jim Thorpe. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Brunch begins at 9, and the discussion will start at 9:30.
It is sponsored by the Carbon County Interagency and Family Collaborative Board.
This year’s speakers include Pennsylvania Secretary of Corrections John Wetzel, who will speak about the mental health system in prisons; Leigh Ann Ksiazek, community program manager at the Department of Public Welfare Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services; and Tina Clymer of Carbon-Monroe-Pike Mental Health/Developmental Services.
To reserve a seat, mail a check, made payable to the Interagency Council of Carbon County c/o Eastcentral PA AHEC, 5662 Interchange Road, Lehighton, PA, 18235. Information that should be included with the check are your organization’s name, address, phone number and email, as well as the names of the people who are attending. The cost per seat is $15.
The deadline to reserve a seat is April 19.
